Marlow Sports Club

New Clubhouse Project
Members & Friends Loans
Dear Members and Friends of Marlow Sports Club (our MSC “Community”)
As you will know from our communications, we have now submitted the planning application to redevelop our clubhouse. Having raised over £1.2M, and more than quadrupled our membership since 2011, we are now debt free and ready for our next project to redevelop the clubhouse.
The background to the project and all the plans can be seen here but briefly we aim to:
-
Improve changing facilities, particularly those for women
-
Enable access for all with a ramp, lift, wider doors and toilets/changing facilities
-
Create a new Community Room for midweek use by local groups
-
Reduce maintenance costs and energy consumption
The development is planned over two phases in order to maintain facilities for our sports during the work and to spread the costs and fundraising:
-
Phase 1 - Replace the ‘old’ pavilion with a new 2-storey block (approx £1.2m)
-
Phase 2 - Redevelop the ‘new’ pavilion both upstairs and downstairs (approx £0.8m)
Phase 1, subject to planning and fundraising, could commence as early as January 2027.
We hope that a significant proportion of this money might be found via a number of personal loans from our Community. To this end our project team is looking to gauge interest at this stage from members of our Community as to whether there is appetite amongst them to do so.
However, we have been advised that any information we provide will need to be governed by the applicable financial services regulations so we understand that we can only deal with two categories of individual:
-
High Net Worth individuals
-
Sophisticated Investors
These terms are explained in this short definition document (view PDF)
Therefore, if you are a High Net Worth individual or a Sophisticated investor and you would like to help the development of your club, please download, complete and sign a copy of one of the two declarations:
Then please send to fundraising@marlowsportsclub.org.uk noting that these declarations will remain confidential to Rick Krajewski (Treasurer) and Keith Packer (Chairman) at MSC.
On receipt Rick or Keith will contact you with further information.
