New Clubhouse Project
We have outgrown our outdated clubhouse facilities. Our “Old Pavilion” (left in photo) was built in the early 1900s and despite refurbishment has limited use and costly ancient plumbing and electrics. The “New Pavilion” (right in photo) was built in 1973 but there is a lack of access for all, limited toilets and inadequate changing facilities (especially for women) as well as high maintenance costs.

To address this we have developed plans to upgrade our facilities that will be delivered in two phases:
-
Phase 1 – replace the “Old Pavilion” with a new 2 storey block plus entrance and lift
-
Phase 2 – refit of the “New Pavilion” once the new block is in place

The benefits and key considerations of this project include:
-
4 large and 2 small all gender changing rooms each with integral toilet and showers
-
Access for all with a ramp, lift , wider doors and accessible toilets and shower
-
A new Community Room, creating opportunities for midweek use by other local groups
-
A larger Club Room and bar with a new toilet block on the first floor
-
A new balcony overlooking the hockey pitch and a new tea and coffee kiosk
-
Reduced energy consumption and maintenance costs
-
All on the current site with broadly the same footprint and a more attractive appearance
